The Ringstaff family was traveling along a highway in southeastern Kentucky when the eerie sight of a lone Great Pyrenees sitting motionless on the side of the road startled them.
The family drove off initially, but had to return to put their nagging concerns to rest. When the family approached the dog, they finally realized the trauma it had endured.
The poor dog stood beside the decomposing body of his four-legged friend, who had died after being hit by a car. The Great Pyrenees had also suffered some injuries and was completely disoriented.
When the family inquired about the two dogs, they discovered other disturbing things about their past.
Apparently, the dogs belonged to a local person who had moved to another town. This person abandoned the dogs and left them without any support.
After the hit-and-run, many locals tried to convince the surviving dog to follow them, but he refused them all and chose to remain loyally by his deceased friend’s side.
In this video, we see the Ringstaff family doing everything they could to save the enormous dog from the woods. How they rehabilitate the grieving dog and earn his trust is heartwarming.
His name was Tucker, and he certainly became the most affectionate member of this kind-hearted family!
