Amelia had always been her father’s «love child,» raised in a very close relationship with him. Until recently, she still lived with her parents.
Her room was her little refuge, a private sanctuary upstairs, which she considered a safe haven.
However, one day her father gave her a bar of thick, green soap, asking her to take cold showers to get rid of an unpleasant body odor.
At first, Amelia thought it was a strange but harmless request, unaware that this act would mark the beginning of a dark chapter in her life.
Initially, she saw it as trivial. Her father frequently commented on her body odor, urging her to shower more often.
He would tell her that she «stinked» and that she «had to do something to get rid of the bad smell.» Over time, those constant comments began to feel increasingly uncomfortable.
The soap he had given her not only smelled strange, but it also had an odd, hard texture, almost like an industrial cleaning product.
Amelia followed his instructions, showering several times a day, but her skin began to dry out and crack.
Despite these obvious signs, her father insisted she «stinked»—it seemed she would never do enough to meet his expectations.
But that was only the beginning. Her mother, whom she had always seen as a constant source of support and love, never responded to her father’s abuse.
Amelia had hoped that at least her mother would stand by her during these difficult times, but she remained completely silent.
This lack of emotional support exacerbated Amelia’s feelings of loneliness and neglect.
The situation worsened when her boyfriend, Henry, began to worry. He noticed she was spending more and more time alone and distancing herself from him.
One day, he finally asked her, somewhat puzzled, «Amy, do you smell different?»
Amelia tried to downplay it, but Henry insisted on knowing the truth. Finally, she showed him the soap her father had given her.
When Henry took it in his hands, he was horrified. «This isn’t ordinary soap, Amy. It’s industrial cleaner! It can damage your skin!»
Amelia was completely shocked. This discovery shattered everything she thought she knew about her father.
Henry wanted to take her to the doctor immediately and pursue legal action, but Amelia was torn.

She couldn’t believe her father had intentionally given her such a harmful product. The idea that he would want to hurt her seemed inconceivable.
However, she could no longer ignore that something deeply wrong was happening. She decided to confront her father and demand answers.
With trembling hands, she showed him the soap and asked, «Why did you do this to me, Dad?»
His response was terrifying and cold. He confessed that he was disappointed in her mother and didn’t consider her his biological daughter.
He told her that during a vacation, a «psychic» had told him that Amelia wasn’t his biological daughter.
He claimed that her mother had deceived him, and that Amelia was the result of that betrayal. In his rage and pain, he explained, he had decided to take revenge on his daughter by torturing her with the soap.
Amelia couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her father, the man she had trusted all her life, had made her the target of his anger.
She couldn’t understand how he could want to hurt her based on a mere, unfounded suspicion.
«Did you do this to me because you thought I wasn’t your daughter?» she asked, tears welling in her eyes.
«You’re not my daughter,» he replied, before turning away and leaving her with a cold stare.
Filled with pain and disillusionment, Amelia left the house she had once considered home.
She moved to a small apartment with Henry, which, though modest, became a safe haven for her. In this new environment, for the first time in a long time, she felt somewhat protected.
After taking some time to process the reality, Amelia decided to take legal action against her father.
She wanted to make sure he paid for what he had done to her.
A restraining order was issued, and her father was notified of the legal proceedings that would be initiated against him.
Despite the emotional strain Amelia was under, her mother tried to contact her. But Amelia could no longer speak to her.
How could she trust someone who wasn’t there for her when her father abused her? Amelia knew it was time to cut ties with the family she had known.
With Henry by her side, Amelia slowly began to find peace. She knew a long road to healing lay ahead, but at least now she had control over her future.
She couldn’t get her old life back, but she could learn to rediscover herself and create a new family with those who truly loved her.
