Each year that passes sees Princess Charlotte continue to grow into the adorable little lady she already is.
As time passes, it becomes increasingly clear that the only daughter of William,
Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales, bears a striking resemblance to several family members,
including her father, her grandmother Princess Diana and her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Born on May 2, 2015, Charlotte is the middle child in the Welsh family, as she has an older brother,
Prince George, and a younger brother, Prince Louis. She is third in line to the throne,
after her father and older brother.
Charlotte’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, which honors both her grandmother
and the previous reigning monarch, her great-grandmother.
The little princess is now 7 years old, and with each passing year her personality
becomes more and more evident. She proves to be the naughtiest member of the royal family.
In addition to her fiery personality, fans have long noticed the resemblance between
her and her grandmother Diana since childhood. Unfortunately,
Diana died in a tragic car accident in Paris in 1997, so Charlotte never got to meet her.
Still, people can’t help but notice that Diana’s legacy lives on through her sons — William
and Prince Harry — and 7-year-old Charlotte. While there’s no way to predict what
Charlotte will be like as she gets older, it’s safe to say she’ll be just as beautiful — inside and out — as her grandmother.
We love seeing family resemblances in celebrities, but we’re especially happy when
we find the same in the royal family. According to Hello! Magazine,
Charlotte has been compared to several royal women in her life.
Many have pointed out that she resembles the young Queen Elizabeth in her younger years,
while others have noted that her mannerisms clearly resemble those of her mother, the Princess of Wales.
Attentive royal fans have also noticed that Charlotte bears an uncanny resemblance to her grandmother Diana.
In the summer of 2019, the little princess made royal fans laugh when she was
caught sticking her tongue out at the crowd at The King’s Cup Regatta.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Charlotte also caused a stir when she denied
photographers access to her little brother Louis’ christening.
The little princess reportedly said: “You’re not coming in!”
Well, apart from her grandmother’s cheekiness, little Charlotte also seems to have
inherited Diana’s incredible beauty. The resemblance is simply astonishing.
We’re not the only ones who think the two look an awful lot alike.
Diehard royal fans took to Instagram to comment on a side profile photo of the two at around the same age,
uploaded by a fan account last year.
«Omg twice the size of her nana… what a gorgeous young lady she’s going to be
with a beauty as beautiful as her angel nana,» one user commented.
Other users in the comments discussed how similar Charlotte and Diana looked,
but they all agreed that the young princess shares her grandmother’s famous grin. Another wrote:
«Beauty Diana is back through her sweet granddaughter bless her xx.»
Not only does Charlotte resemble her grandmother, it has also been previously reported
that she owns and will wear the same jewelry that Diana once owned and wore.
According to GoodtoKnow, Charlotte will receive the beautiful Spencer Tiara, which belongs to the Spencer family.
The tiara dates back to the 1930s and was designed using pieces of jewelry that the
Spencer family already owned to create the masterpiece.
It later became famous when Diana wore it at her wedding to King Charles III in
1981 and on other special occasions, including a state banquet in Brisbane, Australia, in 1983.
It is currently owned by Diana’s younger brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, according to GoodtoKnow.
A palace insider said:
«William is close to his uncle and has asked if the tiara can one day be given to his mother Charlotte.»
However, CNN reported in May 2022 that the Spencer Tiara was on display at the Power & Image:
Royal & Aristocratic Tiaras exhibition at Sotheby’s. So royal fans will have to wait and
see if the young princess will get her grandmother’s tiara in the future.
Still, people have continued to marvel at the similarities between Charlotte and Diana.
In June 2022, an Instagram page dedicated to Diana posted a video of Charlotte’s beaming smile.
People flocked to the comments to once again spark discussion about her resemblance to Diana. One person wrote:
